The terrifying, horrific ending to THE CAR (1977) starring James Brolin. This is from a VHS my dad taped off TV in 1988, so I was able to include some commercials.
There are ads for CBS shows "High Mountain Rangers", "Tour of Duty", and "West 57th", and I also found a commercial for the local news station and one for a product called "Talking Books".

Hey, that's Channel 31 in Peoria...MY hometown too!!! I never knew they showed this movie on TV. I remember seeing the trailer for it when it came out...it looked scary as hell. I read the book (yes, there was one)...quite a different ending! LOL

I remember the "spotlights" graphic & music, but I wasn't able to find it anywhere until now. I remember that day when this came on local tv and this bumper attached to it. But when I searched for "the Car", I had no idea I'd be lucky enough to see this attached! So, it's "the Early Show", which appears to have been a WMBD production rather than a CBS production. The fact that I find this on WMBD of all stations is pure coincidence, anywhere else & I wouldn't have found this bumper.

@wawawis yeah, I remember the bumper being on another movie they showed, "SILVER BULLET". But I didn't remember it on this until I re-watched the tape.
