Jupiter Rising -- April 2009

Written February-April '09-- Recorded April 30, '09.

Though this was written in early '09, I took a lot of different musical ideas I'd been working on over the previous 3 or 4 years and combined them to make this song.

Jesus this is fucking splendid, I'll say.

I'm not sure how I feel about the backup vocals which continue on early, after the main vocals stop. I also feel that the piano riffs start to feel a little repetitive by the second set of verses. Though you start really playing around soon after that which is wonderful. The magic always comes in your playing, for me.

Yeah, the piano part gets a little repetitive. It's harder to prevent that in a "performance" setting though--if I were doing a studio version I could record the piano in segments and make it more complex. For this song though, it was hard to get a complete take (and sing) and still feel content enough with piano part.
