ABOUT BRANDI BROWN: Brandi Brown is the Youth Leadership Development Director for the Children's Defense Fund (CDF) in Texas. Brandi has partnered with CDF since interning for them as a student in Dallas. Brandi began working with CDF as the coordinator of the Katrina Citizens Leadership Corps, where she engaged people affected by Katrina in advocacy and recovery efforts. Brandi started Houston's first CDF Freedom Schools in the summer of 1999. She is the co-founder and director of Waymaker Life Strategies, Inc., which is the sponsoring organization of Houston's Youth Program for Enrichment (HYPE).
