Ive been building DSMs for over a decade so none of your suggestions offer any incite into my situation. Performance cars were meant to be driven hard and you're a sissy if you drive them any other way. Which is exactly the point I was making. I drive my DSMs (and I do mean plural) the way they were intended and they blow up, short out, or generally fail 10x more often than any other car I've built. My Mustangs take every abuse without complaint and beg for more.
So to prove your point about a DSMs ability to make 400hp you cited a DSM that makes 1400hp and only runs 1/4mi?! Its a seriously flawed reference because shep doesnt support your point that its easy to make 400hp with "all around mods" on a DSM. Please represent DSMs more accurately. Shep absolutely uses nitrous. He has a boost referenced system that only injects when he's below optimum pressure. It's what allows him to get his heavy car with its massive turbo off the line more effectively.
Then after that dont beat the shit out of it like its a full blown race car unless you want it to break parts like one. Even the corvette team was having big problems with there race cars a while back ago. They even had one of there cars literally disintegrate a carbon brake rotor which are very expensive and considered top of the line by many. Shit breaks when you race and thats the bottom line. Now getting on it occasionally is a dif story but most people just beat the hell out of DSM cars.
You cant keep your DSM running for more than a few months? Than i suggest you get a little more money and fix whatever problem is obviously being rigged for the week. My car has ran fine for the past 3 years because i actually take care of it and do what needs to be done. Seriously you either A: Have a lemon. B: cant afford to set it up right. Or C: dont really have a DSM and said that just to have something bad to say about DSM vs mustangs. Get a new engine and change the 10-18 Y/O sensors.
I already know that was shep, And he was not using spray when he made that pass. Thats well known on any major DSM forum. And I already know it takes more than basic mods to run 7's dude or everyone and there brother would be doing it. What i meant by overall mods and tuning is that is what it takes to power these things up, cash and a good tune. That was meant to be a reply to that guy that was calling BS on a talon running 400hp.
John Shepards talon would be the car you are referring to, and when he ran 7s is was using nitrous. Its what allowed him to spool his massive turbo. He's also packing A LOT more than just "all around mods and tuning" its a dedicated race car with polymer windows, aluminum rods and all sorts of race only parts. BTW Mustangs handle astoundingly they're just rarely setup for it. Most Mustang owners prefer 1/4 setups. I cant keep my DSM running for more than a few months but my Mustang wont break.
You know about cars? HAHAHAHA in your dreams. Seriously its more than possible to make 400HP in a talon. Take a peek at the talon the runs sevens with no spray. All around mods and tuning, Oh and even supercars break down alot. It comes with having all that power.
when i first have my 92 talon tsi, I was pretty sure i can smoke a mustang cobra. I ran 14.1 w/bolt on and factory turbo on my tsi. My brother David ran 14.3 on his 91 gsx. We now run in the high 10s without making it a 2.4 bottom block. I do also own a 92 5.0 fast back with a vortex supercharge, roller rockers, magnaflow exhaust/cat/ and six sigma headers, MSD everything, and a chip ECU but still i can only run a high 12. My talon mash harder then my 50 on the highway. I had smoked a z06 at rol
my friend calm down its possible to make mor than 400 on a 2nd gen talon but these people like to trash talk cuz there mom and daddy wont buy then a real car just a damn shitty machine
Where is this bad ass track at?
