Groovy!

Jon Astley is a British record producer who recorded and released two albums as a singer-songwriter in the late 1980s. His most commercially successful song was "Jane's Getting Serious", which reached # 7 on the US Mainstream Rock chart in 1987. Jane's Getting Serious is found on the album Everyone Loves the Pilot (Except the Crew) and was later popularized by a Heinz ketchup television commercial.

  • first I was getting serious, then seven years later I had a gun, and an addiction, no-one remember's when Jane was just 'sweet'.

  • @Aerialgrrl .....Your Retro Awesomeness shines very brightly!

  • OMFG! Thanks for posting! Astley is amazing, and I wish he would take a break from re-mastering the entire The Who library to put out something new... Love this CD, as well as "Angler"... Classic!!!

  • Thanks for stopping by. This indeed ROCKS, like my wife (Jane) did! : )

  • It's to bad that there isn't a better quality video out there... I've looked everywhere but only found two versions of this unique video, and this is number two of the fruitless search...

    Crap.

  • Eric Clapton plays on the album that this is on.... The whole album is great

  • He is the ex brother in law of Pete Townsend.

  • He kinda reminds me of Harlan Williams(no Nasty Nate, nasty, naughty jungle of love!) This song was so cool but they hardly ever played it on the radio. I'd love to hear Ric Ocasek of The Cars cover this!!

  • Am I the only one who thinks he kind of sounds like Elmer Fudd?

  • Takes me back to 1985 in Charlotte, NC at PLUM CRAZY dance club. I was 22, time flies.

  • I thought the other Astley should have been named Ghastly. Didn't know he is now Conan O' Brien. Not a big fan of his show either.

  • Better of the Astley singers. The other one makes me vomit. Luckily, he went on to success by changing his name to Conan O'Brien
