first time running Assassin's Creed - Altaïr's Chronicles on the Palm Pre (Sprint)

Just a quick demo of the intro video, and loading times, and some gameplay.

This was my first time launching the game, so I had no idea what I was doing. the controls do take a bit to get used too, but overall it's pretty intuitive.

I also tested out a bit of multitasking with the game running in the background.

It's funny because the N900 runs these games better, without any modifications at all, natively.

@GrumpyGrebo Does the multitouch work on the n900? Also, it's not really funny. the phones are fairly similar, and the games are developed using OpenGL ES with SDL. Theoretically, the pre should be able to run native n900 games as well.

@pomokey Okay I was showing off! No hardware multitouch (resistive touchscreen not capacitative so screen is more accurate but cannot "do" multitouch) but we are working on software multitouch whereby keeping one finger stationary and moving the other one, the distance between the two can be calculated to emulate multitouch.

I don't know about N900 on WebOS, some guys wrote a package which emulates the Palm Pre environment thus allowing native webOS packages to run. Is WebOS open source?

@GrumpyGrebo parts of webos are open source, but not the whole OS. I don't really know enough about linux to get anything like that working, but I would imagine if it works from pre to n900 so easily, it shouldn't be too hard to go the other way around.

@pomokey It's largely dependant on the open source parts. I don't know why you would want to emulate N900 games there are three or four good ones then the rest are homebrew ones made by the community! That's why we turn to Windows, N64, GBC, GBA, SNES, Megadrive and PSX emulation haha. I just find it amazing how a year on the N900 is still coming on leaps and bounds, without help from Nokia. It was only the other month we figured out Palm Pre emulation bringing some okay games to the phone!
