  • It’s obvious that you really care about the bees by the way you pull the frames out so gently! Unless I’m mistaken, the super you added was just frames of foundation, so here’s some un-asked for advice from another beekeeper -- take it or leave it:

    Those bees didn’t need any extra space yet; with that amount of brood they were near starvation. We can see spotty patterns of capped brood, and almost no stores of honey anywhere. What they really needed was sugar syrup or honey feed...
