Went to the AT&T American Cup last year where they reunited the mag 7 and I recognized all of them before the meet when they were escorted in by security

They look totally different now. Amazing! And they still have what it takes. I will never forget my 1996 Atlanta road trip. Took forever to drive down there when I was living in MD at the time and at first I was thinking that this whole trip wasn't worth it...but after seeing all the events it made me realize that I wasn't there to see the Olympics...I was there to part of history and that made the trip all worthwhile.

It is hilarious how the Americans are self-convincing themselves that they deserved to win...at home :)...and never been able to repeat that "performance" again. I think it's in their genes to have a self delusional view of the world.

@duhhxxxiloveyou I think Samuelflower was just noting the obvious regardless of the "why" its still a true statement, they were the most racially diverse group of women than any other team, most of the teams nowadays are all white, nothing wrong with that just nice to see diversity when it comes as that is what the poster was commenting on.

These girls now women are truly inspirational

I love the fact that not only were these girls fantastic athletes and ambassadors to the US but they were like a United Nations group to make ALL Americans proud. Almost every race of Americans (Asian, African-American, Hispanic etc) were represented on that team and truly showed the spirit and racial tolerance and excellance of America! I don't think we have seen that cultural mix in gymnastics in recent times.

I met Dominique Dawes and that woman is an inspiration. She's very articulate, very outgoing, and loves reaching out to people. Her motivational speech made me what I am now :)

@douceminey I don't know when but Dom has accused both coaches of those things on several occasions. I'm guessing it happened around 95-96. Dom never runs out of things to say.
