City halls plan to have fourteen seater matatus to terminate outside the central business district did not kick off today as expected. Public Service vehicles plying the Westlands and Kariokor routes got into the city centre as usual. A lobby group of matatu drivers and operators has said it will rally operators to defy the banning of 14-seater matatus into the CBD on the basis that the existing bus parks are too small and move will result in more congestion.
Its high time we get rid of these matatus. They are driven like mad by criminals that only care about money. Let us get rid of them and recontrstruct Nairobi to look like a capital city then re-introduce the KBS. Order has to be restored in this country.

First of all to those calling others idlers and proposing an alternate plan for them - stop. Every Kenyan has a right to be and do whatever it is they want, provided they do not violate the rights of others.
Secondly, so the City Engineer has come up with plans to de-congest CBD, something we have complained about forever and what do we do - complain more. Kenyans need to stop complaining about everything. Let the guy do his job and then lets judge afterward. Jeez!!!!!

media can do the public a huge service by constantly exposing the folly of these politicians,it'll then be upto to the voters to make their choice.

Ban personal vehicles into the CBD, if any one wants to drive into the city centre, charge them. Also ban fancy coloured noisy matatus, they make the city look untidy. Let all PSV into the city centre like they do in other cities cos it the people with cars that congest the city.

yes, ebu just watch clips za ntv when they have streets in the background...unataka kuniambia hawa watu wote wanatoka na wanaenda kazi? throughout the day? na usiku wanaenda wapi? half yao ni waizi, quarter ni idlers na the rest spectators. Just ask 'em- 'unaendapi?' they've no idea!

Yep, too many idlers in Nairobi ... I wonder what they think about all day and how they manage to be in the CBD everyday doing nothing ...
We all know that most of these jamaaz would be better off mashambani tending to farms and atleast making an earnest living than just randaranda'in in Nairobi and making costly trips mashambani during X-Mas and other Holidays to cheat folks how life in Nairobi is ...
Pengine the gava should start forced Ujamaa for these idlers wakuwe wakulima mashambani.

If it's expensive and costly to be in the city, guys would stay home or shaggz...many people have no business here, just loitering and/or driving around in circles.

Suggestions this Mayor could use but he knows it all, fake elections etc. I have always wondered why schools are in the middle of this city? Next 2Bus Station we've like 3 schools! Ngara area! Move them all out into the suburbs. During school holidays there no traffic jams juu parents use public transport and others carpool.

Build storey parking to handle small vehicles ...Demolish some of those derelict buildings and construct parking facilities in their place ... Convert some of those narrow two-way traffic streets into one-way traffic streets ... Have efficient intra-city bus services not those minister owned buses out to make a killing ... Move some businesses to the outskirts of the City ... Its not like kila msee anataka kuenda to the CBD daily ...
Finally toeni hizo mikokoteni ...
Simple as that ...
