My Katahdin ram possesses a "mane", not a beard per se. In fact, when I initially purchased the ram I was told that if a Kathadin ram was without a mane, he would almost assuredly be incapable of serving his purpose.

You can tell by smell also. Each has their own distinct odor as do most animals.

I have 8 goats only 2 have beards. Neither wether has a beard. None have horns. They have all been disbudded, like the buck in your video. I think the best way to tell is wool vs hair. The only "wooly" goats are angoras and the hair on angoras is still much different than sheep's wool
