I have this monitor, never had any problems. The IPS glow is present but you don't notice it when your screen isn't completely black in a dark room. I do game on this.
Nowadays I'd go for the new LED IPS varients Dell released. :)

does anybody notice something like a grainy filter over the screen, I bought mine today and I'm seriously thinking of returning it, the problem is I threw the box away :D I didn't think there would be a problem with a monitor that has such good ratings

@WNxAtlas Much better than any TN pannel. I own the "High-end" samsung XL-2370 LED 2ms tn pannel monitor and my u2311H BLOWS that thing away the image quality is great!

Older IPS panels had less problem with "IPS glow" which was shown here. Unfortunately most modern IPS displays don`t seem to have ATW polarizer film or equivalent build in which solved this problem almost completely.

How does this screen perform in general FPS and RTS gaming? Nothing competive, just causal online playing with friends and such. Hows 8ms as response time? I dont know how fine the difference is between 2ms and 5ms and 8ms, so if anyone could please fill me in, that'd be great!

For general use, this screen is definitely up to standard. Feature to price ratio wise, I think it's better than most monitor available in the market...
