this is a surgical demonstration of tympanoplasty, epitympanectomy wih attic reconstruction with cortical mastoidectomy performed on a patient who presented with ear discharge and hearing loss for the past 10 years. The patient on otoscopic examination showed a central perforation. when the procedure began, cholestetoma flaques were noticed in middle ear deep to the ossicles and the incudo stapedial joint appeared necrosed, the possible cause for such high hearing loss in this patient. the ossicular reconstruction was done with aid of reshaped head of malleus. This is a very unique ossicular reconstruction and you will enjoy every part of the video
The surgery was performed by Dr.G.V.S Rao, director of Hyderabad ENT research foundation during 62nd Hands on cadaver FEST workshop held during August 11th-14th 2011
