Palestine is Roman for Phillistine. Remember David and Goliath? Goliath was a Phillistine. Arabs rarely used this word since Omar rode in Jerusalem in 642. Arabs cant pronounce Palestine. They call it "Filistine".The Phillistines were extinct by Roman times being destroyed by the Babylonians.
After Gen Allenby marched in the Brits revived the word Palestine. Arafat redefined it in 1966 to give identity to the Arabs rejected by other Arabs.
