No argument there buddy, it's just that in Payback movie, Mel Gibson looked so close to Max Payne ( The 2nd part) they both had deep voices and the same serious gloomy attitude, but I know what're you talking about, Bogart and other figures like him who created (Or Happened to be there) the Noir style.

@OdyXeus7 I think the origin of Max Payne came from noir but not Mel Gibson. While Payback in it's original non comedy cut was a great noir film I think the people who made Max Payne were more influenced by the likes of Humphrey Bogart or Robert De Niro. My only basis for this argument though is that they were in noir style films first.
