Vladikavkaz ( Владикавказ )

Vladikavkaz is the Capital of Russia's Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. One of the Most Populous Cities in the North Caucasus and the region home of the Alans , the descendants of the Ancient Scythian and Sarmatian Indo-European Peoples as well as other various ethnic groups.

The city was founded in 1784 as a fortress during the Russian conquest of the Caucasus where the Ossetians aided Catherine the Great and voluntarily accepted to be part of the Russian Empire and became One of the Loyal Soldiers along with the Terek Cossack Army.
