ANITA WOOD - I'll Wait Forever! Plus Great Photos with Elvis

Anita Wood was Elvis Presley's primary girlfriend from August 1957 until September 1958, when the army shipped him off to Germany.

Though their relationship was not the same when he was discharged (March 1960) as before, they continued to date until 1962.

Anita also recorded for ABC-Paramount (1958) and Santo (1963). She is the uncredited vocalist exchanging vows with Andy Williams on the 1958 hit, "The Hawaiian Wedding Song (Ke Kali Nei Au)."

I agree with everyone else......Elvis LOVED Anita.....the love letter he wrote to her while away in Germany on the web confirms that!!

Pricilla turned his head, but SHE chased him. Not until Anita moved out did he give in to her constant pleas to return to Graceland....AND then he had to agree in ADVANCE to marry her...he kept his promice but he didn't feel for her what he did for Anita .

Priscilla said in her movie that Elvis had not called her in 6 months, but she kept writing asking to visit which she did for 2 wks in the summer of 62 at age 17 in California with a trip to Vegas, Anita moved out & announced they had broken up because Elvis wasn't ready to settle down, Priscilla visited at Graceland for 2 wks for Christmas 62 & moved to Memphis in Mar. 63 when she was almost 18. She soon moved into Graceland, & finished her last few months of her senior yr. in high school.

She was a beautiful woman, but Priscilla was the one he married. I don't think Elvis was the man who let people make rules for him. But he definitely had a great taste in women!

Had Elvis' beloved Mother not of died (on August 14 1958 at the age of 46 but Elvis always believed she was 42) , and met Priscilla in Germany, it is highly probable that Elvis would have married Anita Wood. Gladys not only approved of Anita but made an exception to her "marrying rule" she taught Elvis growing up and that was "you can date a blonde...but only marry a dark haired woman". Great video!
