    The casting pot cost me about 65 bucks new, the pewter I get at scrap value, and the molds appear often on ebay usually for between $8.00 and $20.00.

  • Indeed, your comment on type metal is correct...back in junior high metal shop in our foundry segment, we used sand molds for that stuff!

  • My dad 'candled' his Gilbert molds before pouring LEAD into them, after clamping. Would love to see a video of the old time toy soldier factories of the 1930's DIY sets...
