Actually, we were running Navman's that had been hacked to run Ozi Explorer with full topographic maps. We carried full paper maps but used Ozi on the GPS with the Hema Desert map series the entire trip, and have done so for several since. It works an absolute treat, and hacking GPS's to run Ozi has now become common place.

Dont particularly agree, at least from a traveller / visitor perspective. Now the Nullabor, or the Hay Plains.... they are boring.
