@xXRAVENTEARS666Xx - It's not even solely the music, the minds behind it as well, I like AiC, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden and they wrote some damn good music, but in my eyes it's a combination of the whole that makes good music, the BritPop was simple as all fuck in most cases, but the simplicity with the chosen lyric styles and actual lyrics are what made it, Grunge to me was too whiny, I'm also biased to strongly disliking Nirvana as Grunge Posterchild, and didn't allow Britpop in the U.S.

@Compton3clipsed I fucking love Suede, and Britpop might be more musical, but I don't think you're allowed to say it was more complex than grunge. Soundgarden had fucking time signature changes. Maybe I'll give you Nirvana, AIC, and the rest as being not very complex, but grunge melodies by definition are dissonant and require the writer to "resolve" them melodically. The vast majority of Britpop is written in 4/4, in one scale, with predictable melodies, and all that.
