um, isn't it just sickening that the people on our left cross their legs left to right and the right, right to left? bla! anyway, i didn't vote for mccain and i'm a fan of whoopi but what the hell is she talking about? slavery=injustice. abortion=injustice she has no argument.

Um you do here about that often. But the fact of the matter still remains who bought them? With the wars in Africa they took prisoners of wars as slaves that was the tradition, how ever those slaves didn't work for over two hundred years and it wasn't just the fact that there was slavery, but how the slaves were treated also ...

You have said what millions of blacks already know and its irrelevant. Slavery is wrong no matter who did the selling or the buying. And I would rather be free in Africa than to be a slave in America.

if people know history theyll know youre right im black & thats why our race is so divided but the fact that "white ppl" being blamed for slavery isnt true some ppl "blame" "white ppl" becuz of the duration, brutality & 3/4th of a human that was wrapped into slavery then after that segregation & civil rights, that doesnt change the fact that our own ppl sold us. that was the past i personally dont like dwelling on any part of the past cuz whats done is done & every1 is kinda living peacefull now

It's true that African sold their own people into slavery, however, if white people had not bought them and kept them in bondage for generations then it would not have thrived in the USA. It's very easy to say what you would do when it's not a real option. No one, no matter how horrible to the conditions of their country are should be slaves. No excuses are acceptable from anyside.

not all of the slaves. at the beginning they did, when they had their own kingdoms. when the europeans took over their kingdoms they didn't have to buy anything from the africans.
