  • ...So the government is going to force upon us something optional...for us to choose if we like. How in the hell is that genocide...Wow, it's so evil of our government to give us a choice of health care...

  • Lets be fair Insurance companies feel fine about taking government subsidies to help their companies yet, the minute we try to help the average American they call it socialism. So By proxy they are for corporate socialism, they just want to make sure that all advantages are for them. How dare we consider helping average Americans. In their eyes that is just unamerican. Lets go by there logic Screw the poor help the rich> RA RA RA

  • People need the same healthcare as the people thay Elect ? price rate and rules.....

  • don't take my word for it, the congressional budget office (non partisan) projects billions in savings and a reduction is the deficit.

you're clueless aren't you? so tell me genius, why is the insurance lobby spending millions a day to defeat a pubic option?

because the gov't plan is that bad?

    i'm waiting...

  • You can't actually believe that. This is the absolute dumbest comment I've ever seen reguarding healthcare costs. Please tell me you're joking. Please tell me you're not that stupid.

  • Not at this point, voting against the people is all they got to attack on due 2010 and 2012, and if they vote with the Dems the dems will stay in power far longer than they want will just and the republican fanatics will all go independent out of rage and goodbye republicans

  • that's because government programs aren't designed to make a profit, thereby saving the taxpayer the wasted overhead that private companies incur. comparatively the government saves billions this way. so what you call a loss, is actually only a portion of the expense it takes a private company to run the same program.

that's why greedy insurance companies are afraid of what you call inefficiency. they will have to trim the fat big time to compete. and you will pay less for health care.

  • ok, someone help me out here.

if i have it right, dems are going to try to stop a repub filibuster (that forces 60 votes for a bill) by getting all 60 democratic senators to vote for a simple majority to pass the bill. there by ending the filibuster. if i have this right, does anyone believe the conservadems will stay with the party line on this?

this can't be the best hope of a public option.

  • I heard that if a person in the U.S. military is injured , maimed, or killed in a botched operation in a VA hospital, they and/or their families are not allowed to sue for malpractice.

Even if it had serious consequenses (like amputating the wrong leg), and could be proven..Even if they had proof that the doctor did it DELIBERATLY.

Milatary officials say ths is "fair " because the military pays for it.

I don't think that the family of a soldier who died from gross neglegance would agree.

  • Its never that simple, the P.O has to serve every community no matter how poor and unprofitable to them, no matter how far out they are they have to have a near by collection point.

Guess what, a private military would easily undercut the current one, but you can forget soldiers being allowed to risk millions in hardware to rescue there buddies or the use of expensive smart bombs that have 50/50 chance of even saving one more civilian life etc... certain thinks need a public option.

  • Rep Weiner, said Medicare archives a 97% reimbursment rate.
