Understanding Painting: Elementary Art Appreciation - Approaching a Painting

This series introduces children to art masterpieces as they learn how and why artists arrange shapes and lines, the vocabulary they use, and how they create a center of interest. We also see hoe they create a mood when painting portraits, and how they use color and light to express ideas.

This program gives children an introduction to art appreciation and art terms.

Grades 3-8. Full video is 20 minutes.
