I've joined together opende a "physics" or dynamics library and Irrlicht a real time rendering library

The dynamic shapes have different classes derived from a bas class that handles redrawing and updating the physics state

Next to make a class for the car...

  • wow, this is cool. However, I prefer ogre because you can compile it yourself to support 64 bit platforms unlike irrlicht which comes precompiled only in 32 bit.

  • irrlicht is very very much easier to compile than ogre, just make without the need of any overcomplex reconfig...

  • wow, oops. Just looked at the site. I had read somewhere that irrlicht was closed source and had to be payed for to use with comercial applications. Not that one shouldn't donate if they use it for a comercial app - but licensing is always a nucianse.

  • Hey Chris - nah, haven't used ODE lately, but I saw in my my RSS reader that they have made some important bug fixes lately. I'm more doing website dev stuff at the moment.
