what is the voltage of your servo tester? I am on amazon and ebay I see only 6volt ones. Will that matter for high RPM outputs?

He is using a 3 phase brush-less RC motor controller. HDD motors are 3 phase.

get a model speed control. small like 5 amp is plenty. hook up the 3 wires in any order. if it runs backwards reverse 2 of the wires. hook a 3 to 15 volt supply and shazam
