Royal Welsh Show 2011

Titan the Robot was there and much, much more. Was a great day for the whole family.

The pole climbing handicap championships have seen high-speed climbers breathlessly scaling 100-feet to reach the top of the pole as they bid for the prize winning, throughout the day axe racers will be sending the wood chips flying in a series of exciting competitions in the showground's forestry area.

With many of the livestock championships already decided, gives show goers a chance to explore the show-ground for some of the other attractions on offer including the brilliant displays in the horticultural section. The presentation of awards in a new school garden competition in which more than 50 primary schools in Wales in participated will take place in the Horticulture marquee where the pictorial examples of the schools garden projects will be on view. There will also be talks on growing flowers and flower arranging.

The forestry area is the place to visit to see forestry crafts and watch stick makers at work turning out some beautiful examples, and those seeking more mobile events can see the pony club mounted games, the elegant private driving championships and harness trotting in the main ring.

There is always so much to see at the Royal Welsh Show, biggest event of its kind in Britain with around 1000 trade-stands and shops, and other main ring events scheduled include the judging of Welsh Ponies and Welsh Ponies (Cob Type) championships, Welsh Part Breds and Shire Horses. The coveted Tom & Sprightly and Royal Welsh Supreme IN hand Championships will also be decided.
