Yes, absolutely. If someone is jealous of you, and they think you have everything that they want, then yes, they may find a reason to dislike you. Does that make it any easier? No,. But at least you know why someone doesn't like you and there is really nothing you can do about it, except be polite, be nice, and maybe they will change their minds...but not likely.

  • As a quiet person, I notice people who think they are the social butterfly of butterflies get bitter at me. The get mad because they think they can talk to everyone and get the same likable social response, and don't get that from me. It's not that I am trying to be stuck up, I just don't want to jump through everyones hoops. Social traditions don't hold enough mystery for me to keep chasing that carrot(it just doesn't excite me, or make sense).

  • Alot of females who are quite overweight seem to dislike me.

which is so silly because I used to be overweight myself but I changed it, I've never treated anyone badly because of insecurity, that is my own responsibility to overcome those feelings.

I always think that, what can be accomplished by one person can also be accomplished by another... I get inspired rather than envious.

  • this is indeed true I believe and this made me more understanding and helped me take it less personal when I come across people who don't like me when I dont know why, I thought about it I notice I always seem to get really annoyed of people who constantly brag about how awesome there life is and what awesome people they are, like if you know u have this super awesome and happy life ,why brag about it? and for some reason i get irritated of girls who constantly brag about how tons guys like them

  • @HEIBAOSHEN completely agree with you.

  • This is very true, Marie. I find that when I'm around judgemental people, I don't like to be around them bec I am always second-guessing myself. And when I'm around non-judgemental people, I am free to be myself! I still strive to be free-spirited around everyone, even those cynics, but it's not nearly as fun;)

  • @HEIBAOSHEN I really feel the same

  • @shalimarsgirl I love your attitude. You are absolutely right to protect your happiness. It is a CHOICE to be happy. They have to make that choice.

  • When I realize that this world is filled with many insecure, jealous, bigoted, prejudiced, desperate, evil, and self-righteous people; and when I know that have have not done or said anything to deliberately offend or hurt anyone - to be 'disliked' because of who I am, how I look, speak, write, or sing does not bother me. Can a person who dislikes so much be happy? From my heart I wish them peace. I remove myself from their presence and my heart is free to be happy.
