In the beatitudes, Jesus of Nazareth describes the character of the
people of the kingdom. These are Christ„s promises of coming blessings.
In Matthew, there are eight (or nine) blessings, while in Luke there
are four, followed by four woes. In Matthew, more than in Luke, the
Beatitudes refer to moral or spiritual qualities of Christian
discipleship. This is a short clip from the Movie Jesus of Nazareth
played by Robert Powell as Jesus.

  • Amazing Preacher, Son of God, Prince of Peace, Valiant Defender, Generous Carpenter, Forgiver of sins is this Son of Mary---Jesus of Nazareth. That is the reason why I, a former unbeliever gave Him My heart and soul.

  • Jesus is my lord 4ever!!

  • @losraidersrifan And maybe just maybe, some Christians should be willing to accept that just because someone doesn't believe in Lord Jesus the *exact* way they do, or the way their church teaches them to, it doesn't mean they don't love Him with all their heart and strength.

  • "Mourning" is probably referred to in 2 Cor 7,8-10; 1 John 2,15-17; etc., like in "mourning" and consequential "conversion" expression. Other beatitudes are further development of that. First one, "poor in spirit" is reference on Isaiah 66,1-2;, could be understood as being humiliated before God (no ego, like narcissism etc), also echoes in "who is first, will be last" expression (being unbiased, like in James 2 and other places).

  • This world would be such a great place if these teachings were applied by everyone, too bad it isn't!!!!
