Monroe, North Carolina (February 17, 2011) U.S. Preventive Medicine, the leader in disease prevention services, is teaming up with Derrike Cope and Jay Robinson Racing as the primary sponsor on The #28 Chevrolet Impala for The DRIVE4COPD 300 in daytona on February 19, 2011. The race can be viewed on ESPN2 at 1:15 pm EST.

The 1990 Daytona 500 Champion Derrike Cope said, "I'm very excited to be able to introduce The Prevention Plan to NASCAR fans. The Prevention Plan will be the most important link to good health for millions of people. As for the race, Daytona is definitely my favorite track. If we can be in the lead draft with 10 to go, we will have as good of a chance as anybody."

Christopher Fey, founder, CEO and chairmen of U.S. Preventive Medicine, said the opportunity to work with Cope and Daytona auto racing, is particularly poignant given his family background.

"We are delighted to have this special opportunity to work with Derrike and the Jay Robinson Racing team," said Fey. "It feels full circle for me because my father was friends and worked with Bill France, SR., around the time France was founding NASCAR. My father died from colon cancer at the age of 29 in 1953, the same year NASCAR started. I was just one year old at the time, and losing my father at that early age had a profound impact on me and is part of the reason I founded U.S. Preventive Medicine, which exists primarily to prevent devastating events from happening to people."

U.S. Preventive Medicine's primary product is The Prevention Plan, a personalized program to help individuals achieve the best health possible by providing an analysis of their health, personal assistance from prevention experts, and a roadmap on how to reach specific health goals. The confidental program helps people live better and save money by providing valuable tools and personal attention to get healthier.

"It is gratifying to continue to bring prevention into the national spotlight and to support DRIVE4COPD, a public health initiative that helps people identify symptoms of COPD and take action," Fey said. DRIVE4COPD's national education campaign has brought together a cross-section of organizations, including the American Association of Respiratory Care, COPD Alliance, COPD Foundation, Country Music Association, NASCAR, and U.S. COPD Coalition, with the aim to help millions of people affected by COPD by focusing national attention on this common and debilitating disease.
