This movie is a Tina Turner biopic. It begins with her childhood in 1949 and ends in the mid-1980's. The movie covers the beginning of her career where she is discovered by Ike Turner, a singer, and her rise to fame as Tina Turner in the Ike & Tina Turner Revue. The film also details her rocky marriage to Ike due to his continuing spousal abuse, as well as their musical career which ended abruptly in 1976, and culminated in their 1977 divorce (though in reality their divorce happened in 1978). In the 80's Tina earned her freedom from Ike and the film ends in the year 1984 where she performs her hit song "What's Love Got to Do With It?".

The cast for this movie includes:
ANGELA BASSETT as Tina Turner/Anna Mae Bullock
LAURENCE FISHBURNE as Ike Turner
JENIFER LEWIS as Zelma Bullock (Tina's mother)
CHI McBRIDE as Fross (one of the band members in Ike & Tina's group)
VANESSA BELL CALLOWAY as Jackie (Tina's friend)

Additional cast members include Phyllis Yvonne Stickney as Tina's sister Alline Bullock, Rob LaBelle as Phil Spector in the part after Tina sings "Shake a Tail Feather", and Richard T. Jones, Shavar Ross, Damon Hines, Suli McCullogh as Ike and Tina's children, while other actors portray their younger-selves.

  • Thank you for the upload. Unforgettable, stunning performance by Angela Bassett. A subtle yet powerful, deeply moving portrayal. Tina Turner, a singer who found inner strengths to match her gifts. Bassett, an actress who delivers intelligence, vulnerability, strength, and then some in roles that can barely keep up with her. Few can equal these women today, on stage or screen, and with such stirring authenticity. Love 'em.

  • @ishmyl99, you're welcome.
