wired an real world are connected her dad wants her not to believe that Lain somehow controls some of the wored applications with this Psyche proccessor so if ur not usin a Navi or not ur in anyways think of it as Matrix the movie it's similar to it some ppl have higher knowledge 'bout the enviroment some dont know it even exists that's my conclusion till now
i would like to add, that in the last episode, her sister was replaced. i would like to think that, b/c her sister was against her using the computer, she had to be replaced by another. her mother was the same way until.....EP 3 i think?
the men in the black suits are the knights, who are watching over Lain's progress. however, she felt threatoned by them and attacked one of them through the window. i think that they were the ones that gave her the Psyche chip, but only under her fathers word
I've got it! Lain has been hacking bank accounts to get the money for the hacker cave she's been building! Probably why the MIB has been spying on her all this time. Of course her father must pitch in a lot himself.
Oh and as for Evangelion, it's nothing like this and it's also pretty straightforward. I still like it though. =]

idk if Lain could hack the bank accounts. she seems very good with computers but.....idk. i just dont see her doing that.
also, why in the world was there water on teh floor? i have expected there to be a small pond in there somewhere. she should open the window sometimes.
then again, there was enough space in her room in the beginning....
