French fighter jets establish no-fly zone over Libya

A French fighter jet fired on a Libyan military vehicle, the first reported offensive action in a international military operation against Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi's forces, a French defence official said on Saturday. A French defence ministry spokesman said the strike happened at 1645 GMT on Saturday. He said the target was confirmed as a military vehicle, but it was not clear what kind. No hostile fire on the French jet has been reported, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile U.S. and British ships and submarines launched the first phase of a missile assault on Libyan air defenses and a senior American defense official said it was believed Moammar Gadhafi's air defenses suffered substantial damage.

While generally oposing military acts and militarism, you have to realize you're on the wrong side of history, when F r a n c e is leading a military attac on your country, or rather, regime.

Congrats and best of wishes to the Free Libyans, I'm proud we (for once) could support this just struggle of yours...elegant French planes guided by attractive French air force personell. There are worse beginnings of hopefully free and more just societies than this:-) God bless.

now the nato is doing the bombings
