Note: The organ pictured in this video is not actually a 38er Voigt Concert Band Organ; the picture is actually a Voigt Model 34 56-Key Band Organ named the Angel of Arnhem ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjvMY5zKzUE ). I apologize for any confusion.

The tune is Ungarische Lustspiel Ouvertüre [Hungarian Comedy Overture, ca. 1899], composed by Béla Kéler, a Hungarian.

This piece was/is quite popular on German fair organs in the arrangement of Marcel van Boxtel, if I'm not mistaken. It was also released on, among others, an LP record of the 52-key Gebr. Bruder organ of Jan L. M. van Dinteren (now in the national museum at Utrecht). Kéler also wrote a Französische and Spanische Lustspiel Ouvertüre, as well as other nice pieces like the idyll, Der Sohn der Heide.

  • Although the organ illustarted is a beautifully voiced organ in supreme original condition, it is not the instrument playing. Clive Palmer

  • @cliveatvagg I realised that right after i had originally put the video up, hence the notes in the annotations and author's comments.

  • great organ and selection/arrangement - it's a keeper - thanks treg

  • tregnier279. However you have done me a favour by your posting as I heard this music some time ago, I think it was on a Gavioli at Amersham Organ Museum and wondered about the title. I would very much like a copy for "Angel" (Voigt). I have recently obtained "Poet and Peasant" which helps to cleanse my soul after a hard day. Thank you. Clive.

  • This is a fabulous organ in pristine condition, I know I am honoured to own it.

  • very strong and balanced organ. Very good rendition of this work Thank you from Jimmy
