  • HMMM...think I'm gonna grow a beard.

  • @Morepullups What have I done...? Hmm, well after joining the Marine Corps in 2005, I deployed to Iraq in '07 as a Machine Gun Team Leader, Afghanistan in '08 as the same, two Combat Action Ribbons, a NAM-V for valor in combat. And every firefight I got into, I utilized what the Marine Corps taught me. But this stuff is geared for extremely close range combat. 150-200 meters in the closest I fought at.

But you have to keep in mind: Close range... where this stuff would be useful.

  • @TheSillmatic Training not service branch determines how effective a fighting force is, study modern combat Najaf 2005 falujah 2005 massive combat ops that needed both army and marines fighting together because the have the same flag on the shoulder. 15 years ago your right but now the army and marine corp are just 2 of the heads on the beast, the army has 18 rapid deployment brigades, the marine corp 12 MEU's same thing different name marines are on ships so they deploy faster, but airborne..

  • @TheSillmatic The truth is the army has more money to spend, and you can find units in the army that can perform or out perform marines in combat, but it doesn't they fight on the same side just different missions, the marines are not lighter the army 2001 oct 13 US army rangers were dropped into afghanistan a full 2 months before the marines and then 82nd airborne was already on the ground with the marines. Your logic is around 15 years outdated, units are elite based on how much they train

  • @TheSillmatic your history is asinine, north Africa Sicily and Italy the army had 100k soldier fighting in the philippines 2 months after pearl harbor. Please read a book the army gets a lot of vehicles before the marines AH64 UH60.. i could name 20-30 vehicles the marines will never be able to use. And i do recall a in falujah 2005 the marines needed army M2 bradley's and 3 batillions of soldiers, so marine corp macho bullshit is stupid

  • wish I could have a kevlar beard to damn native american genetics.

  • @TheSillmatic I wouldnt really say that only things Army dosent have is a great hand to hand system like MCMAP and more physicaily strained other than that I wouldnt say theres a difference also marines are taught to swim and a bit more disciplined.Marines are light infantry force able to deploy air, land, sea.Army is more a large light, airborne, mechanized infantry force.Army is more a infantry brigade style now

  • @Ascenscion123 (2of2) And as far as the First to Fight... that's the motto for a reason. The Marine Corps is designed as a smaller, faster, more lethal force. The Army is designed for large scale conflicts (i.e. a uniformed army, fighting an actual country). I know everyone is biased based on their own experience, but in mine, the Marine Corps is the more lethal branch. I joined the USMC because the stereotype of Marines being the baddest MF'ers is pretty much true (special forces aside).

  • @Ascenscion123 (1of2) Did you know the Marine Corps was fighting in the Pacific two years before the Army invaded Normandy? And as far as gear, the Army and Marine Corps use the same thing. The Army just gets a few things before the Marine Corps. Vehicles are the same, weapons, body armor, etc. All the same. You get the same school benefits from any of the branches through the G.I. Bill. The Army has it's own medical branch, and the Navy provides medical support for the Marine Corps.

  • @TheSillmatic About that 'first to fight' I find that fishy when the army was the first to engage in mostly all the wars along with the corps in two other wars.May sound childish but the only reason why I want to be a marine is because of MCMAP(mostly),the uniform and armor, and the m16,also more muscular men.I want to join the army because the gear, medical field, benefits, schools, and opportunties so how would you help a person stuck between joining the two

  • @Ascenscion123 A few things: Yeah your explanation of Thumb over Bore is pretty much what it is, but you are on YouTube, just search it to see it best. And the way the Marine Corps and Army operate is pretty different. As much as people want to argue about it, the Marine Corps has was less resources, the Army gets all the newest stuff (and the most of it), but the Marine Corps is at the forefront of every engagement. So... the USMC does more with less. Kind of the "Tip of the Spear" saying.

  • @TheSillmatic Is the thumb over bore grip when the face f the thumbs is the rail of gun pointing vertical while the other 4 fingers are wrapped on the fore grip so it's basically a thumbs up position?
