  • that guitar tone is heaven.

  • @Pauleymack: Thanks. Maybe someday the playing will be...

  • I dig the jangly almost 12string vibe you can get on this axe! Did the pickup swap make much difference? I'm possibly going to get my first Rickenbacker soon and Im looking very seriously at the 330. Where'd you get the cool pickguards??

  • @Slammintone: The sound on this one was created with two amps, compression, chorus, reverb, and presence (via a Boss ME-50 multi-effects pedal). The pickup swap did make a difference--the toasters have a lower output which allows you to have more control over the tone. Finally, the 330 is a fine instrument. The 360 is a bit more comfortable to play, but the sound is basically the same. Try "Craiggers" national Craigslist search engine to find your axe for less than Ebay.

  • only the 2nd time i've seen a blue boy ...the other guy on you tube said he sold his and then wrote back that he regretted letting it go after i gushed over it..you say 330 and 335 but it sure looks 360 o.s. with some capri throw-back elements with the stove top knobs..outside of a d'angelico or some such , your guitar is the most breathtaking electric of them all.

  • @LanceHelmut: Thanks for the compliments. This guitar does not have binding like as OS would, and I added the silver/gold appointments and the stove-top knobs. I ended up selling it in order to afford a 1998 Pete Townshend re-issue (#164/250) that was offered to me at a low price. I miss this guitar, but I don't think there's any doubt that the PT is a more valuable instrument. That said, if I ever had the chance of re-claiming this guitar, I'd take it.

  • @PENRYISADUDE: Probably a result of playing through two amps, using compression, some chorus, some reverb, and oh yes... A Rickenbacker.

  • Good beginner Mod.If you figured this out on your own ...VERY good.

  • @Nazzz65: Hey... Great comments. The guitar is a 2004 Rickenbacker 330 in BlueBoy finish (which I modified into a 335 w/ the vibrato). I held on to the stock white plastic appointments, but I thought a "silver-gold" set would look great on this guitar, so I ordered some up custom stuff and it turned out great, I think. Used to live in Boston (for grad school) back in the early 90's. Love the place. Now to let you know that I sold this guitar a year or so ago...

  • Jesus Christ that's a beautiful guitar. WHAT THE HELL RICKENBACKER MODEL IS THAT?!? Those vintage appointments are SHARP!! This guitar looks like a 330-type model but with an enlarged headstock(?). White?Or like a pale blue(?). GOLD plastic: outrageous! That tremolo tailpiece is HYPNOTIC-sounding! Now I KNOW those 'low-gain' 'toaster-top' p/ups are worth holding out for (that treble!)! The elephant in the room are those Lennon-style 'oven'-knobs! Come to Boston crash on my sofa and join my band!

  • Yes! You talked about 2 amps, some reverb, chorus and your Rick ... But what is your rig indeed. By the way, congratulations!

  • Wish I could afford one
