This beautiful Rag was created by Pandit Lalmani Mishra and is itself a combination of different Rags.
Lalmani Mishra was a great Vichitra Veena player,he renewed this rare instrument and the style of play as well.
He founded the Mishra Bani which is now a Garana renowned among music lovers.

B.G Beenkar was a student of the son of Lalmani Mishra, He studied Veena with the Vichitra Veena player Gopal Shankar Mishra in Varanasi.
Gopal shankar Mishra was himself a great musician and pedagogue, teaching Vichitra Veena and Sitar in University as well as private traditional lessons (Guru-Shishya-Parampara).His beautiful last recording is "Out of Stillness" (Rag Darbari) recorded in "Real world studios".

After years of constant practise and dedication Beenkar now performs and teaches Vichitra Veena.



Since he met his Guru and in spite of the early departure of Gopal Shankar Misra in 1999 B.G Beenkar is dedicated to the Vichitra Veena and it's survival in the contemporary Indian classical music.
