I agreed with most of it except the kerosene. If we can't make it ourselves or grow it in any way, then it is not sustainable. Good post though.

I don't know how I feel about the kerosene things... I don't know how much less of a global impact it has.

This novice video has some curious (bad) recommendations. Burning (and evaporating) alcohol, kerosene, and oil lamps are very unhealthy for indoor air quality, AND global warming. The vacuum tube CRT in the room without insulating drapes is a huge energy waster. For 1,000 energy conservation specifics from a DOE expert, start with the YouTube videos from "zeroenergydesign"
