Joe Lieberman is contemptible because he seems to view the U.S. government as a handy bodyguard for Israel. He is strongly aligned with the right-wingers from Israel, and would happily annihilate Iran to punish them for their aggressive talk and support of Hezbollah.

This isn't about him being Jewish any more than W.'s self-delusion is about him being a Christian. They are both ideological warriors, and dangerous.

Don't dilute the case against the Bush White House (cronyism, Justice dept., torture, permanent detention of suspects, illegal wiretaps, etc.) with conspiratorial fantasies of them planning a terrorist attack on their own country.
