@dklkrull I'm truly sorry to bother, but you must understand that Jesus was appointing that certain word to the pharisees, who only ate, if they washed their hands, (The Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they give their hands a ceremonial washing, holding to the tradition of the elders.... These are not inspired by God, however Jesus says in 2 thess 2:15 So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter.

@cathofaithdef let me tell you something i was reading the bible today and i just found this ''They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men,You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.Mt7:7-8 i want to study german and norwegian and you are kind of disturbing me ,but that's ok just to finish i tell you if u are from God he will set you free, pentecostal church the one wich doesn't pretend the gifts from the holy spirit

@dklkrull answering your question, The fact is that the Catholic church does not use only what was preached in the scripture but also the traditions of early Christians, suchas how the mass is organized, some of our sacraments, and our rituals comes from early Christians.
