Discussing the Qu'ran...

I'm debating this Muslim guy and keeping a record of it on my blog. Perhaps it will amuse you:

If you have any ideas about how to be more clear with him or know more about the infallibility of the Qu'ran than I do, please let me know.
This is sort of exhausting, like arguing why the Bible is not infallible with a Christian, even when Christian scholars will admit that there are significant differences between Q and Mark, the literalist with half the education of his kinsmen will think you are lying.
Also, the guy knows little about several sciences and that is also an obstacle.

What i undrestud from u is that the religion of islam hasnt changed the languged in the book for 1500 years i am a muslim but i dont know enough to tell u what is wright or wrong but what i have learnd from islam is that it is the book of god and it should not be changed not even the meaning cuz think about it like this if u change one word u lose the meaning .hope u got my point its good to know some people have an open mind and iam a smoker to keep it up lol.

You are completely ignorant. The Koran was compiled long after Mo died. People collected sraps of paper, bits of wood with verses on them, soft rocks with verses inscribed in them, etc. One scholar was given the task of deciding what was legitimate and what was not. Many of the versus submitted were from the Torah or New Testament. Others were contradictory. The scholar gathered up Mo's original followers and they sorted through the verses. The followers didn't always agree. It was a mess.

So you are trying to say that the old men struggled on compiling the Qu'ran? The people that memorized the Qu'ran were checked by the Prophet Muhammad himself, and yet, Zaid Ibn Thabit was one of the closest compilers of the Quran that was near the Prophet Muhammad, and was the one who made the Qu'ran as it is today, along with caliph Uthman. It seems you don't understand the ways of how they memorized the Qu'ran.

The Koran was compiled years after Mohammed's death. It relied on the testimonies of Mo's original followers that were doddering with old age. Were they lying? Probably not deliberately, but old men remember things all the time that never really happened. It's a very well documented phenomenon.

And for your last point on ''epilepsy'' and schizo disorder, so you are trying to say, a man, who is uneducated, change a society, which had weird, and pathetic ways to a proper, civilized manner, by a man, who has these conditions, and don't forget, he wrote the Quran, which is memorized by millions of muslims worldwide, word by word, verse by verse. When the Prophet Muhammad when to Jerusalem, he described many things on how the city looked like, and when the Muslims reached there a couple of years after the death of the Prophet Muhammad[PBUH], they saw the things the Prophet [PBUH] saw. Your sources are wrong. No where in the time of Caliph Uthman were that shias existed and that claimed that there were extra verses/surahs in the Quran. I want to see this ''lie'' in the Qu'ran on how a con man, who is uneducated, couldn't even write his own name, write a thick book. I was reading a couple of posts around this video. Anyways, even if I made a few historical mistakes (not convinced I did, but my sources could be wrong), it still doesn`t change the fact that no one ever flew into space on a winged horse. Hence, I found an inaccuracy in the Koran (i.e. a lie). Therefore, by it`s own criteria, the entire thing is the product of a lunatic or a con man. Period.

This is the person himself who has debated you. It was a total waste of time, you basically didn't even your facts straight, some of your history was even incorrect as well. You claim that shias were at the time of Uthman [RA], however, it was after Ali was killed.

CadicusTheDamned nowhere in the primary Islamic sources does it say that Quranic verses once translated from Arabic will become gibberish & mean somthing else entirely. Yes languare does evolve over time but this doesnt mean that verses 1400 years old mean something different today to Muslims. This is because we have the Authentic Hadiths which explain Quranic verses & go into great detail on what they mean. So of course Arabic has changed but we still know what the words in the Quran mean.

You should be well aware of Al Taqqiya as the deception is sanctioned in the Koran (or perhaps Hadiths?), although from what I surmise the broadest application of it is primarily utilized by Wahhabists (Salafism) and Shiites.
