The work on the hadron colider shows there are black holes that when accelerated appear to expand. If this theory can progress to the stage where a black hole large enough for a craft to pass through then space travel to diatnt planets will work. However, also accelerating a craft to 99.99% the speed of light in a gradual process would allow such travel possible, but the drawback is that anyone travelling on the craft that for every day spent travelling would equal one year of earth time!
