Do It Yourself - Caravan Bed Lift - Adria Altea

Accessing the storage area under the bed in the Adria Altea 432 PX is tedious and disruptive. The factory fitted side lift mechanism is terrible.
The solution is to fit gas lifts to the bed. The project costs around AU$100 and is straight forward. Shop around for the gas lifts as I found prices varying by up to 100% between suppliers.

Do you mind sharing the manufacturer and model of your struts?

I purchased the struts from a small strut reconditioning company - running out of a shed in an industrial area. They were off the shelf struts and nothing special. I think from a hatch back car.

The important info is 400mm long and 300KN pressure. Make sure that you also get the mounting hinges - should be free with the unit.

These are quite a common pillow, I think called a 'banana' pillow. But ours are a bit special - they are feather-filled rather than polyester. Purchased in Western Australia at Baines, years ago.

@perthwiz they are known as a "TRI" (Try) pillow. use that name and they will be easier to find :)
