This week, Microsoft Surface units were installed in three Nordstrom locations including Downtown Seattle on May 3, Bellevue Square on May 4 and Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood on May 5. They will be on display throughout the month. Microsoft Surface will provide an interface for Nordstrom shoppers to learn more about the Im a Swedish Baby Photo Contest, browse submitted photos, search for Swedish babies and read their personal stories. Using stamps, children will also be able to create virtual art work of stars, dogs and hearts on Surface as a fun activity while shopping. POP, a Seattle-based digital agency, developed the interactive Surface application for Swedish.
@0m3n1337 We have a Toolkit for Windows 7 that bridges development using Surface controls onto Windows 7 PCs with WPF/.Net too. That aids in cross-platform development. From a UX perspective, you'll normally re-do your interface based on the system. Phone vs. PC vs. Surface have different user interactions.

@0m3n1337 Silverlight is definately a platform that Microsoft is investing in, but I do not have anything to share regarding Surface and Silverlight at this time.
Cheers.

@mssurface That's good that there is XNA support . The reason I asked about silverlight was because if you could make Silverlight applications on MS Surface then you would be able to re-use the code for Windows PCs and Windows Phone 7 phones.

So is this a Silverlight based application? If not, are there plans to make Silverlight APIs that could integrate with Microsoft Surface?
