Chick-Fil-A's same-sex marriage stance infuriates Muppets

Chick-Fil-A hates the gays! It's true, CEO Dan Cathy told the Baptist Press himself. His comments didn't go over well with the Jim Henson Company, which withdrew their partnership with Chick-Fil-A.

Interestingly enough, just a few days after the Jim Henson company said they will never work with Chick-Fil-A again, photos of the fast food restaurant announcing they were recalling the Kids' Meals Toys due to a "safety issue" went viral.

One of the few individuals to come out in support of Chick-Fil-A is Arkansas governor, Mike Huckabee. Huckabee called for a Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day on a August 1st via Facebook. Suspiciously, the event disappeared a few days later.

All of the backlash and controversy shows exactly why Church and Restaurant do not mix. Whether you agree with Dan Cathy's statements, or disagree, there is no denying that the Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwich is one of the best around.

Marriages between men and weomen will not be "re-defined" by recognizing gay marriages any more than voting was "re-defined" when the voting rights of women, and later blacks were recognized. "Redefine marriage" is nothing but a buzzword and a scare tactic used by those who never had a rational argument against marriage equality.

The current definition of marriage is a union between a man and a woman. Why try to have the government "redefine" that? I don't believe in discriminating against gays, only their attempt to have "government" redefine words. As a TPer, I want smaller government and more freedom!

I don't believe that it is government's place to try to change the meaning of terms. Marriage is currently accepted as a contract between a man and a woman. Why have the government tell us a new definition? And where do you get the "religious bigotry?" What have I ever said that makes you think I don't like gays? Really! Seems you are letting your own "bigotry" cloud your own perception of what I'm sayin'!

Marriage equality for gays will not "change the definition of marriage" for heteorsexuals one iota. It will simply end discrimination against gays based on religious bigotry. How will recognizing the marriages of gays amount to "government interference in our personal lives?"

You really need to lighten up, I really don't care what you do in the privacy of you own home, but why do you feel the need to try to change the definition of marriage legally? If it is accepted as you say, fine. But why try to mandate the change legally? I'm a TPer, I just don't advocate government interference in our personal lives.

Rhode Island has become the 10th state to legalize gay marriage (plus the District of Columbia). 14 nations worldwide have legalized gay marriage in the last 5 years alone. Republican politicians are jumping ship and throwing their support to gay marriage. Gays have been acceptdd by the American military despite the scare tactics used by homophobes to prevent it. Anti-sodomy laws have been overturned by the Suprem Court.  Americans are smarter and better than anti-gay types.
