this guy MUST be the coolest guy in germany... BRILLIANT STUFF Mr Lahner.
-
The guy is dressed like some kind of law enforcement.
The repeated stabbing motions towards the throat with a collapsed baton and the pull down to get a knee in the guys face has nothing to do with law enforcement, this is more like a street brawl with fancy equipment.

Many thanks.

If he's using a baton because the man isn't armed, why does he pull a gun on him after he beats the shit out of him?

part 3:
The part about deescalation, the legal part....this is the part that is not very interesting in a clip on youtube, unless it is a lecture. This is not a lecture, it shows possibilities. Do I think it is dangerous to show? No, because it is a clip in the internet. Whoever uses this a s the only source for training, and walks out on duty with a baton I seriously would not trust to do his job. Nor the sane mind of his chief. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and stay safe

Part 2:
Lots of departments I teach allow for lethal use of the baton when otherwise a shooting would be justified. On the other hand some do not allow for deploying it, unless you are physically attacked with a weapon. Using a baton is much more than just hitting the thigh. And rest assured we DO teach using the baton appropriate. But t the legal aspect of it is a long part of the training, and requires not only looking at the attack, but also circumstances to evaluate the way of deploying. ...

Sir, with all due respect: "Some sort of mafia gangster intent...." That is ridiculous. The clip shows what is possible, concepts. Not actual street situations. Of course actuals encounters would need to be viewed in contact with law and SOP. Around the world ether are all variations of baton uses. And not all of them are designed nonlethal. The beauty of the baton lies in it´s use within the force continuum from deescalating to lethal. Please see part 2

@emwu1988 You would get dismissed and/or put in jail if you used baton techniques like that.

@HeimdallTV Yes, it's unprofessional and could lead people into serious trouble by using a baton against the head, unless the situation justifies use of deadly force. All the big law enforcement baton makers like ASP, Casco and Monadnock advise against head strikes.
Depends on what jurisdiction you are in, the times the gun is drawn is whenever he was attacking with a deadly weapon (blade).
As with all clips in the internet, it is only a show of possibilities and concepts. Does not reflect a real world scenario, as all other factors e.g. bystanders, environment, body language, behavior, speech are not shown anyway. Thanks for watching

What is the length of that baton in US measurements? Is it the 21 inch or the 26 inch? Also, what is the pricing for this item? I have the catalog from Bonowi, but no prices are listed. Thanks!

@gomcse
Sir, that is the 21. Price depends on department order, or single rode. BONOWI sells it for Euro 140 (including rotating holster). But they do have dealers all over....
Did send you pm for contact.
Stay safe

Question though. When you use the extended baton to jab in a stabbing motion, what keeps it from collapsing? I had some (cheap) extendable nunchucks and I had to return them because it was too difficult to keep them extended.

@ChuckinWitHarry : It locks, when extended. You have to press a button to have it collapsing again.
