This video is about a nice trip through 4 northern countries. It's about the beauty of nature, waterfalls, arctic flora, reindeers etc. We never meant to dislodge so many feelings about who belongs to whom and why not. Wish you all the best with the discussions though. Have a nice one!!

It amazes me how little people know. Scandinavia is; Norway, Sweden and Denmark. While the North is Scandinavia plus Finland and Iceland.

In Iceland the speak as we did in Scandinavia in the viking age. While Finns have more in common with the east, like russia.

Go read some books or visit some museums! Finland has nothing in common with Scandi, and if they do, they got it from rubbing against Sweden.

wasn't talking about today, was talking about when the term scandinavia first came to life, and that you have a different history and culture back then.

today western countries are so alike it's hard to pinpoint the differences.

Thank you, but you are not telling me anything I didn't already know...I wouldn't describe Finland as "way different" from your definition of Scandinavia, however...go to Bosnia or Bulgaria if you want to visit a place that is "way different".

the definition came to life when they saw the similarities in the countries on the scandinavian peninsula (norway and sweden) and the southern region to it (denmark).

norway, sweden and denmark has a lot in common, the same germanic people, same language, history (vikings etc) and culture.

the finns have been influenced by it because sweden owned finland for over 600 years, but finland is way different compared to scandinavia.

anyway, scandinavia is overrun by immigrants, finland ftw

Yeah I'm well aware of our history, thank you.

I actually meant that during our common history our blood has perhaps mixed piecemeal because of the Swedish invasions in Finland or on the contrary the skogsfinnar in Sweden. But of course nothing is absolute. I myself have some Swedish blood due to my moms ancestry, and I live in southeast Finland. But yeah heritage is perhaps a wrong definition.

And finns only share the same History with Sweden from the Swedish Conquest of Finland in the early medieval age to the Russian invasion 1809. After and before that Finland didnt have much connection with the Scandinavians.
