On 4th June 2011, newly restored ex-GWR 6023 'King Edward II' in early BR express blue livery takes to the rails on the Mid Norfolk Railway for a 1,000 mile 'running-in' tour. There are scenes of celebration at Dereham, and the local populace turned out in style at Garvestone. However it was a quiet morning at Kimberley Park, which was actually the first shoot of the day. Turn up the volume and enjoy!

  • I dont think any video recording can do the sound of this beast justice, I reckon you need to see it in the flesh to get the full package.

  • @HennersJames You are absolutely right!

  • Nice sight. The blokes off the palatform end were lucky the H&S posse weren't on their case!

  • I can't believe the sound that engine makes! Looks soooooooo gorgeous.

  • Nice to hear her being opened up 5:06

  • Glad I didn't go that day if it was that busy! I saw the King last Saturday at Kimberley and there was no-one else there!

  • Quite a beautiful train!
