Manager of High Performance Cars for Porsche, Andreas Preuninger, provides the opportunity to ride shotgun as he took the first produced 2010 Porsche GT3 RS out for a ride on the Autobahn yesterday evening. Due to traffic, he was only able to get the car up to 292kph on the unrestricted A5 Autobahn.

The second half of the video, Andreas tells us what went into the development process for the new GT3 RS and what the car is capable of doing with the new technology and performance upgrades from the previous generation.

  • Sorry to disappoint however this is not a DR video ..

  • They should really include a sequential gearbox with the RS, like in the cup cars, or at least have it as an option. Might then justify the price jump from the standard GT3. Otherwise, very nice car.

  • Hey i have one of those and a mansion... in my dreams....

  • @fmsdaman1 195 is enough for what´s the RS is intended to do. It gets to 195 fast and the wing makes it stable in fast corners. That´s more important than doing more 5 or 10 MPH

  • I´m a nerd or having a bad day, but while listening to that beautiful flat six sound, i couldn´t concentrate with that electro-rock soundtrack. It isn´t bad, i liked it, but i wanted the pure 911 sound

  • weight exactly, this car doesnt need it

  • @muratguzeldere

no it doesn't have direct injection, it just has the larger 3.8 engine.

  • it's just the weight. 4 wheels always have better traction then 2. Also on tarmac.

  • AWD is easier to drive for the normal person but RWD is faster on track for any skilled driver (unless its raining) ofcousre there are always some exceptions (Audi IMSA GTO)

  • if you could get rid of that huge ass spoiler the car could do well over 200mph instead of just 195. thank god they put it on though cuz i want to be flyin by ppl at track days and takin corners like butter. i wonder why no 4wd? maybe to save weight?

  • you cant compare them...the italia is gonna be like 350k and the rs is 150k

  • No.

  • Does this car have the direct injection tech. like the stock 911?
