Eighteen miles south of the village of Carmel is the beautiful Bixby Creek Canyon. Spanning the mouth of the canyon over 700 feet across is one of the world's highest single span arch bridges, the Bixby Bridge. If you have ever made the scenic trip down Highway 1 south of Carmel-by-the-Sea, you know this bridge. You can't help but pull the car over and snap a photo of this beautiful sight. You also can't help but wonder what secrets the river, steep canyon and beach 260 feet below hold.

Now is your opportunity not only to find out, but to have access to it every day!. At the bottom of the canyon, behind a private gate there are a handful of roughly 2 acre parcels of land that rarely become available on the real estate market. This is one of those rare opportunities!

Relax, and feel your blood pressure start to drop as you make your way down the narrow dirt road to this magical locale. This particular 2 acre parcel has ancient Redwood trees, Willows and the Bixby Creek meandering through it. It also has a small two bedroom rustic redwood cabin complete with everything you need; a living room, a small kitchen, a full bath and a river rock fireplace. You can live in it full time, as is currently the case, or keep it as your weekend getaway. Either way, you will enjoy the ambiance of this spectacular location.

This remote location allows you daily hikes down to what amounts to your own private beach. The short trail to the mouth of the canyon winds back and forth over the Bixby Creek several times and eventually leaves you directly beneath the magnificent Bixby Bridge. You will enjoy a view of the bridge that very few individuals have had the luxury of seeing. The beach is pure magic! With steep granite cliff walls on both sides of the canyon narrowing down to only 100 feet wide at its base, you will never get tired of it's natural beauty. And the alternating sound of the loud ocean surf mixed with the soft babbling creek is a melody that you can listen to all day! Just remember your sun screen!

If you are looking for the perfect getaway spot you must check out this very unique property. It is available by appointment only, so be sure to give us a call.

  • Hi Stratum, I only practice real estate on or near the Monterey Peninsula, which is on the central coast of CA. Had you watched any of our newer videos, that is pretty obvious when it starts. This is an early video for us and it didn't have much of an intro

  • Hi Stratum,

This particular property sold over 2 years ago in the $500k range. We do not put prices on videos as if the price changes we then need to go back and edit the video to reflect the price change. I happen to agee with you that Realtor shouldalways put the price online when it is practical. We actually do post the prices on all of our listings and on all of our property websites and we do go back and change those when we have a price reduction. .

  • Why do realtors so often omit the asking price of the property, as if that isn't an important factor. Don't they know that when we are looking for a property the very first criteria that must be met is does the price fall within our budget? My guess is that it is a ploy to get people to call in in order to hear the sales pitch for other properties. My policy is no price no call, no matter how nice it is . Also you omitted what state this is, I guess this is another unimportant detail.

  • @sunlover518 you can tell by the realtors voice...it's at least 4 million ...

this is NOT for REGULAR people. It's for people who will NEVER be there. Its for

people who will be off in europe, etc making millions.

  • so am i. probably about 2 million for this cabin

  • oh! i ache w/ envy for this place or any tiny, remote place in big sur. i spend almost every weekend down there - usually in my truck - exploring and botanizing increasingly remote and secret places. i didn't know it was possible to be in love w/ a place until now.
