On his first appearance on Charlie Rose's talk show in February 1994, after being granted a 48 hour visa to the US, Gerry Adams, head of Sinn Fein, introduced on the programme as "the political arm of the IRA", refuses to acknowledge his home in Belfast, or the state of Northern Ireland, as being separate from the rest of Ireland.

@EmperorLucius77 I think you'll find London is the worlds largest financial center and the UK remains one of only a handful of countries to retain its AAA credit rating throughout the entire global economic crises. The English aren't doing anything illegal in Northern Ireland, Northern Ireland is almost entirely self-governing and has a great deal more autonomy than the Republic would be capable of providing.

You've got the entirely wrong coast here! The Irish, (actually the "Scotti"), raided the WEST coast of Britain, which is where St. Padraig, (who was Welsh!) was stolen from!

The Saxons invaded "East Anglia" on the East coast of Britain, but their influence NEVER spread to the West, the so-called "Celtic" coast of Britain, before the Norman conquest came!

Anglo-Saxon England never "put a violent hand" on Ireland, so to speak! THAT was the Normans!

This is becoming just a bunch of standard English doublespeak. In all truth Ireland did start this way back when the German tribes "that went to briton took over and were fighting amoung themselves". The Irish started raiding england and attacking the coasts asking for yearly human payments. Then the Saxons unified the tribes and they faught off the Irish and started what is today England.
