A montage placing Barack Obama's story in the larger narrative of the African-American struggle. Set to the tune of The Beatles "Blackbird" by Lennon and McCartney (cover by Rachel Evan Wood in "Across the Universe").

  • In case you had not noticed Barack's skin is that of an African American. Meaning he has had to face the same discrimination as any person of color. Because when a racist sees a man with dark skin he does not say "oh he is not decended from Slaves he is fine with me." The racist only sees a Black man. This makes Barack's struggles to go to Hardvard Law school and run from president the same as mine as an African American. Barack is an African American man and has my vote.

  • Very moving... He won! WE WON!--the whole country---

  • Go Obama! even though I'm nt american I'm glad he is the US president :)

Though from seeing 18th century slave trade to the fading of racism by this century. I wonder does 21st century humans fail to see their errors with the meat industry and speciesism, a white man or woman of the 18th century grew up delusional believing he or she was more important then other racial classes.

Now 21st century human man or woman grows up delusional believing they are more important then other species classes

  • fuck him pig fucking shit hook his the most un amercain weak mother fucker under the sun, bitch fucken ass hole. there i fill better, thank you.

  • Obama is not even black. people below are saying his skin is? talk about seeing in color

  • his african grandfather is a servant to british colonists:does that make him 'qualified' for repression(a slightly different version)?

free will?really?his father left his homeland because he saw the suffering of his people and decided to take the responsibility to improve their lives,he later returned to africa:does that sound like a cash-out-and-live-in-wealthy-US future to you?

howz this knid of suffering different to any other kinds of suffering in this world?

  • I am African American too, and although has has had to suffer a degree of discrimination just as you and I have, he does not have our shared heritage. Our culture is very different to that of European decended Americans. For you to call him African American based purely on the color of his skin denies the suffering that African Americans had to endure for hundreds of years. He is black, he is however not African American. He is a black American period.

  • Obama is not African American. Apart from the fact that he is half white he is not African American. His father was from Africa and his Mother from the USA and white.

African American culture/heritage comes from hundreds of years of slavery & repression. His father came to the USA of his own free will. He was not abducted from his homeland and brought here against his will. Obama's family was not exposed to the desegregation that REAL African Americans have had to live with for centuries.

  • Just being black or half back does not make you an African American. To say it does minimizes the suffering and sub human treatment that African Americans endured for centuries.
